Run for the Y on June 29that the Riddell National Bank Firecracker 5k!
[Brazil, IN] June 2019— On Saturday, June 29that 8:00am the YMCA of the Wabash Valley will host its 18thannual Firecracker 5k, presented by Riddell National Bank. This race, which has quickly become a tradition in the Wabash Valley, is expected to bring in over 120 racers for the patriotic event.
“We are looking forward to hosting another great race,” commented Nicole Fry, executive branch director at Clay County YMCA. “We are so grateful to Riddell National Bank for sponsoring the YMCA Three-Race-Series again this year. They are a great supporter of the YMCA. With their support the YMCA will be able to grow and better serve our community.”
The 3.1-mile race will start and end at the Clay County YMCA. Early registration is $20 per participant and can be paid in person at the Clay County YMCA. Participants can also download a registration from at www.ymcaswv.org under the Clay County YMCA Special Events tab and mail it in to the Y at 225 E Kruzan St., Brazil, IN 47834. Early registrants are guaranteed a customized event t-shirt.
Early registration for the race will end this Saturday, June 15th. After June 15ththe price will increase to $25. Participants can sign up as late as event day morning. On the morning of the race, participants can sign up, pick up their race packet and racing timing chip starting at 7:00am. The race is executed by Y staff and volunteers; Timing MD coordinates the race timing. Shirts for the race are being printed and sponsored by A+ Printing in Brazil.
All funds received from the race will benefit the Clay County YMCA fitness offerings. Awards to the top male and female will be presented immediately following the race.
